Canada is an incredibly multicultural nation, home to thousands of diverse groups who celebrate their heritage proudly. A strong and varied cultural understanding also fosters mutual understanding and antiracism. However, this also means that many find that there are barriers to truly understanding our nation's multiculturalism, namely due to factors like language barriers, cultural barriers, and lack of awareness. In GSSYA's virtual ChatGPT bridge workshop, we invited Renzo Moromisato to give a keynote showcasing how the use of ChatGPT can help overcome language barriers, communicate accurately, and foster mutual understanding in multicultural contexts. Over 30 youth from across Asia, Africa, and Europe attended the workshop, including participants from India, China, and Turkey. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with participants recognizing ChatGPT as a powerful tool for fostering intercultural communication and breaking down barriers in diverse communities.Â
